Dapper Travel Diaries: Week 15 – Golf Channel Interview & Cruising around NC

This week we hit the 100 day mark of the #ultimategolfroadtrip. What a wild ride we’ve been on. And this week was no different. Jordan played 4 rounds of golf, was interviewed on the Golf channel, drove all over North Carolina and got to spend lots of time with friends and family. Here’s a quick recap of the week!

Day 97 – Golfers and Photographers unite

Friends from Charlotte came to hang out with us and play Pine Needles, a Donald Ross course in Southern Pines, NC. Travis and Jordan are both golfers and Meredith and I are both photographers, so we had a lot of fun chasing them around the course with our cameras!

Day 98 – Chill day in the parking lot

Jordan played golf at Pine Needles sister course, Mid Pines. Since it’s not on the Top 100 right now, I didn’t go to photograph it. I stayed behind to get a little work done, relax and hang with Ella. The parking lot had a ton of space for RV living for the day.

Day 99 – Golf Channel interview at Pinehurst No. 2

It was a busy, fun day. We got up early to setup for Jordan’s Facetime interview on the Golf Channel (watch it here). We’re getting really good at creating computer stands out of golf lounge furniture. After his live check-in with Charlie Rhymer, we played another round at Thistle Dhu, Pinehurst’s 18 hole putting course. And guess who won that round, ME (with a handicap of course)! Then we went from the crowded Pinehurst parking lot to the really awesome little farm we’ve stayed at a few time for one more stay.

Day 100 – Tour Stitch, play Dormie, driveway living

Day 100 was a doozy! From Pinehurst to Raliegh to West End to Monroe, we were all over North Carolina. We kicked it off with a private tour of Stitch Golf – the coolest golf head cover and accessory company ever (read my take on Stitch here).

Then we raced over to Dormie Club to play a round of golf. As you can see, I was wiped and needed a little power nap on hole 16 😛 After the round, we drove towards home and stopped in to see a friend’s new house. Before dinner (and so tired), I taught a live class on holistic living from their driveway. Then, we relaxed with our friends before spending the night – where else – in their driveway. What a day!

Day 101 – Home sweet home for a week!

We woke up in our friend’s driveway, made breakfast and hugged their necks before heading back to my hometown. My best friend is coming in town from Cali and it’s Easter so we decided to spend 6 more days at home. It’s the last time we’ll be in these parts until the end of the year or early next year so we’re taking advantage of our time with family and friends. First stop, our favorite walking trail at the RiverWalk with Ella!

Day 102 – A day with friends

Saturdays at home are fun. All of our friends are off work. Jordan headed to Charlotte to play golf with some of his buddies and hang out with our friends up there. I stayed back home so I could spend the day with my friends I grew up with. It would have been so great to see everyone, but there’s just never enough time.

Day 103 – Easter and lots of family time!

Easter at home! There’s nothing like it. We started the day at Church. We watch Elevation online when we’re on the road, but being able to go in person when we’re in town is the best. Then we spent the day visit my family and friends and eating ALL the southern food. All the while, Ella got to spend the day outside with my mom’s dogs and our cat got to roam a big house with my mom’s cats. So everyone was happy!

I can’t believe this is our last weekend in my hometown for a really long time, but we took full advantage. And I’m really looking forward to what’s next on our road trip – Virginia!
